Hawaii Pacific Å·ÃÀAƬ (HPU) Facilities Department is responsible for the stewardship of HPU buildings, infrastructure, and grounds. We have a dedicated, hardworking team representing a broad range of professional expertise.
Responsibilities
- Building Maintenance and Repairs: Ensuring the physical condition of buildings, infrastructure, and grounds are well-maintained and safe.
- Health and Safety Regulations: Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards regarding facilities to protect students, staff, faculty, tenants, and visitors.
- Project Management: Overseeing renovations, construction, campus or building closures, and other facility-related projects, excluding IT components.
- Utilities Management: Overseeing the provision and maintenance of utilities such as electricity, water, sewer, gas, and cooling (AC) systems.
- Space Management: Managing the allocation and use of space (i.e., classroom and office design and layout), excluding furniture procurement.
- Emergency Response: (In conjunction with HPU Security Department) Implementing and maintaining emergency response plans.
- Budgeting and Cost Control: Managing the budget for facilities operations and finding cost-effective solutions.
- Environmental Compliance: Ensuring HPU adheres to environmental regulations and sustainability practices.
- Mailroom: Maintains smooth internal communication and external logistics. Responsible for sorting, distribution, incoming and outgoing mail processing, package management, automation and technology integration, inventory management, and compliance with postal regulations.
- Vendor and Contractor Management: Coordinating with external service providers for various facilities-related services and supplies.
- Janitorial Services: Coordinating cleaning and sanitation services to maintain a hygienic environment.
- Moving Services: Coordinating, performing (in-house), or consulting on moving services (dependent upon the Scope of Work).
- Landscaping and Tree Trimming Services: (At Aloha Tower Marketplace and Makapu'u Campus/Oceanic Institute only) Coordinating or performing (in-house) landscaping and tree trimming services to maintain a safe and aesthetically pleasing landscape.
