Dr. Ayscue resides in Los Angeles, CA and works as Director of Admissions and Assistant Professor of the developing DPT program at Hawai’i Pacific Å·ÃÀAƬ Las Vegas.
Dr. Ayscue has been teaching in Doctor of Physical Therapy programs since 2017. His teaching responsibilities have included sports physical therapy, anatomy, clinical skills, physical therapy professionalism, and clinical education coursework.
Prior to transitioning into academia, Dr. Ayscue practiced in the outpatient orthopedic setting for a large hospital system. He is a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Sports Physical Therapy, is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, as well as a Credentialed Clinical Instructor by the APTA. He practiced as a Certified Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist, and is also certified in Blow Flow Restriction Rehabilitation. During his clinical practice, Dr. Ayscue also carried the responsibilities of Site Coordinator of Clinical Education and Clinic Director. Prior to starting his career in physical therapy, Dr. Ayscue was a strength and conditioning coach at the Å·ÃÀAƬ of North Carolina at Greensboro and Å·ÃÀAƬ of South Florida.
His research interests have included professionalism and performance in clinical education, as well as interprofessional collaboration in clinical education. Dr. Ayscue has presented at the APTA’s Educational Leadership Conference, the APTA’s Combined Sections Meeting, and the CPTA’s Annual Conference.
In his free time, he enjoys travelling as much as possible, playing basketball, cheering for the FSU football team, and hiking with his dog.
