September 17 is a special day of celebration for Hawaiʻi Pacific Å·ÃÀAƬ! On September 17, 1965, the State of Hawaiʻi granted a charter of incorporation to Paul C.T. Loo, Eureka Forbes, Elizabeth W. Kellerman, and Reverend Edmond Walker, to establish Hawaiʻi Pacific College. Our founders recognized the community’s need for a private, non-profit higher education institution, serving the educational needs of students from Hawaiʻi and around the world.
As we commemorate and celebrate Charter Day, we extend our aloha and mahalo to all members of the HPU ‘ohana. Your contributions, along with members of the HPU community dating back to our founding, have paved the way for the success we’re seeing today in pursuing our mission and vision, while embracing the values that make our Institution a positive force in the community of Hawaiʻi.
